North London, England – April 25, 2025 – Drama unfolded at the weigh-in ahead of tomorrow night's highly anticipated middleweight showdown between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Eubank Jr. stepped onto the scales at 160.05 lbs, narrowly exceeding the 160 lb limit for the contest.
Benn, looking focused and ready, weighed in comfortably at 156.4 lbs. Following Eubank Jr.'s failure to make weight, negotiations ensued, resulting in a financial penalty being levied against Eubank Jr. While the exact figure remains undisclosed, sources indicate a significant portion of his purse will be forfeited to Benn.
Despite the weigh-in hiccup, the fight is still scheduled to proceed as planned on Saturday night, live on DAZN PPV. The weight discrepancy, however, adds an extra layer of intrigue to the already intensely personal rivalry between the two second-generation fighters. Questions will undoubtedly be raised about Eubank Jr.'s conditioning and whether the added weight cut impacted his preparation. Benn, having made weight comfortably, will likely look to capitalize on any potential weakness.
The undercard also saw all participants successfully make weight. In the co-main event, Chris Billam-Smith and Brandon Glanton both came in under the cruiserweight limit at 199 lbs and 199.5 lbs respectively for their twelve-round cruiserweight contest. Cheavon Clarke and Viddal Riley also made weight for their British Cruiserweight Title fight, with Clarke at 198.7 lbs and Riley at 199.5 lbs.
Liam Smith and Aaron McKenna both weighed in successfully for their WBA International Middleweight Title bout, with Smith at the middleweight limit of 160 lbs and McKenna slightly lighter at 159.7 lbs. Finally, Anthony Yarde and Lyndon Arthur both made the light-heavyweight limit for their WBA Intercontinental Light-Heavyweight Title clash, weighing in at 174.2 lbs and 174.6 lbs respectively.
Doors at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium are set to open at 5:00 PM local time tomorrow, with live coverage on DAZN PPV beginning at 5:15 PM. While the undercard promises exciting action, all eyes will be on the main event as Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn finally settle their bitter feud in a fight now carrying the added narrative of Eubank Jr.'s weight miss and the subsequent penalty.
