Piala fights Choki in WBC Grand Prix

FEATHERWEIGHT Bryx “The King” Piala of Cebu City will face undefeated Juma Choki of Tanzania in the first round of the WBC Grand Prix [Round of 32] on April 17 at the Global Theater Boulevard in Riyadh City, Riyadh.

The 23-year-old Piala tipped the scales at 126.8 lbs. while Choki came in at 127.4 lbs. during Wednesday's weighin.

Piala [9-2-0, 3KOs] last fought and lost against Mikito Nakano by a 4th round knockout for the OPBF featherweight title last September 7, 2024 at Korakuen Hall in Japan.

Piala recently won against Ken Jordan of General Santos City by a unanimous decision last March 8, 2024 in Cawayan.

The 24-year-old Choki [9-0-1, 3 KOs], on the other hand, settled a split decision against Nasibu Ramadhani last June 29, 2024 at the Post Ground Kijitonyama in Dar-Es-Salaam.

It is promoted by Alessandro Cherchi of OPI Since 82 under the USE Boxing Commission.
