WBC Boxing Grand Prix set April 17-20

THE Riyadh Season WBC Boxing Grand Prix will be held on April 17 to 20 at the BLVD City Global Theater in Ryadh, Saudi Arabia.
World Boxing Council president Mauricio Sulaiman said there will be four divisions: featherweight, super lightweight, middleweight, and heavyweight.

There will be 128 boxers, 32 per division. It will be a single-elimination tournament.

The first phase will have 64 fights while the next stages will follow in June, August, and October, with the grand finale in December.

All participants will receive a medal.

Sulaiman presented the official Boxing Grand Prix gloves. One boxer will wear green gloves and the other gold ones.

The “José Sulaiman” Trophy was also presented. It will be awarded to the Boxing Grand Prix winners.

Various ambassadors from around the world in Mexico were present to witness the announcement of the Boxing Grand Prix.

Among them were Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan Almurat Turgabenkov, Ambassador of South Africa Beryl Rose Sisulu, Ambassador of Ukraine Oksana Dramaretska, Director of Sports Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Daniel Alcaraz and Director of Intersectoral Coordination of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maestro Alfonso Zegbe.
