
IIEE-PSME Quezon City wins three in a row in PCAP All-Filipino Cup

The IIEE-PSME QC Simba's tribe make it three in a row in the on-going PCAP All-Filipino Cup at the expense of the Las Pinas Bamboo Knights before bowing to the strong Toledo Xignex Trojans. The Professional Chess Association of the Philippines (PCAP) will have the Holy week break and resume for the next round on April 19.
Meanwhile, continuing the success of last year’s groundbreaking initiative, the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers (IIEE) now in collaboration with the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME) – Quezon City Chapters – once again is set to partner with the Quezon City Government’s plan to have a 2025 Engineering Week. This year's anticipated event will take place on June 17th at the newly inaugurated MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) Convention Center in Quezon City.
The discussion, led by former and current IIEE chapter presidents, Engr. Paolo Tolentino and Engr. Hanie Oviedo respectively, along with Quezon City Government HRMD/SHRU representative Dr. Milflores Tantoco-Deleon, discussed the launching of the activities shall be well represented by the IIEE National Officers, the Board of Electrical Engineering, and their counterparts from PSME. And since the mechanical practitioners will also be present, the topics covered in the first day shall be electrical and mechanical related.
Following the topic, Engr. Arvin Gammad and Engr. Eusebio Nimer who also heads the Green Building initiative in Quezon City as a C40 committee suggested that if it coincides with the approval, the Green Building Code of Quezon City might me launched and disseminated.
While the Department of Building Officials represented by Engr. Michael Mactal, and Engr. Dante Jimenez, eagerly discussed the possible outputs from this year’s program in reference to last year's.-Marlon Bernardino -
