JAN Brixel Moncal of Samar and local bet May Angelie Mag-aso ruled the 21-kilometer race of the first-ever Legacy Run held Sunday at the Azuela Cove in Lanang, Davao City.

Moncal timed 1 hour, 12 minutes and 54 seconds to win the men’s division.

“Grateful for the strength, proud of the result. First 21KM race in Davao City, champion,” said Moncal in his Facebook.

Moncal thanked his coach Mathew Crisostomo for the opportunity.
It was a triple-win as second and third went to teammates Ronald Marilla [1:14:21] and Vincent Avestruz [1:15:36], respectively.
Mag-aso, on the other hand, clocked 1:38:10 to top the distaff side.

“Every kilometer carried a story. Every step built my legacy,” said Mag-aso in her Facebook.

Veteran Madelyn Carter [1:41:33] was second followed by April Joy Morales [1:48:41].

Meanwhile, Mark James Agudo topped the men’s 10-km with a time of 34:55 followed by Paul James Zafico [36:26] and James David Langca-ag [37:54], respectively.

In the women’s 10K, the top three were Aslia Hadji Nassef [47:57], Eadgine Olorvida [50:07] and Kahlela Nikole Gonzales [50:47].

“[I am] thankful because the runners were happy. Hopefully, there will be a second one next year,” said race director Kenneth Sai of KinetixSports.

Sai thanked all the sponsors and the runners who supported the Legacy Run.
