Former ALA star "Prince" Albert Pagara has secured a golden opportunity to revive his career with a title fight in Australia.
The popular and occasionally controversial Pagara (37-2, 26 KOs) will face undefeated Aussie Billy Polkinghorn (5-0, 2 KOs) for the vacant WBC Australasia Lightweight title on March 7 at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The crucial clash will air LIVE on PPV on LiveCombatSports Australia (link below)
After a tough setback last May in Russia and two stay-busy wins in Thailand, the Maasin-native is eager to turn his career around in "The Land Down Under!”
For that, Pagara has been training intensively at Brico Santig's Highland Boxing Gym in Bangkok, Thailand, and will be guided in Perth by veteran coaches Frank Jaro and Brico Santig.

Albert Pagara.
With just five days to go, Pagara is focused on victory and will look to make weight while maintaining his strength to demolish his less-experienced opponent. Can he do that?
Not an easy mission, pero his fans in Cebu, Southern Leyte, and beyond are rallying behind him, and former manager/promoter Don Antonio L. Aldeguer is wishing him luck.
"I love Don Antonio like a second father. His good luck wishes mean a lot to me. I feel inspired to get this win," Pagara said.
The WBC Australasia Lightweight (135-pound) title fight is promoted by Australia's Pathway Promotions.
