Pasay City---Grandmaster Daniel Maravilla Quizon reinforced his position as one of the Philippines’ top chess players when he ruled the DG's Cup 2025 Invitational chess tournament held at the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) Auditorium, DD Dragon Center Meridian Park Building, 10th floor , Double Dragon, Pasay City last Friday, March 14, 2025.

There, Quizon showed nerves of steel and delivered when it mattered by beating Antonio (1-1) in their rematch in the finals.

Actually, Antonio won 1st game in the finals but yielded in the 2nd game.

Quizon was enjoying a twice to beat advantage in the finals in the Armageddon double elimination tournament, (Armageddon format, 10 minutes for white and 9 minutes for black).
