Manila---Jeffrey De Luna and three other Filipino aces made it to the last 16 of the money-rich Qatar World Cup 10 Ball.
De Luna picked up an 11-10 win versus Bader Alawadhif of the United Arab Emirates to reach the Round-of-16 of the $450,000 tournament at Ezdan Palace Hotel in Doha, Qatar.
Joining him are fellow Pinoys Arnel Bautista, Sean Mark Malayan, and Aivhan Maluto in the World Pool Association sanctioned tournament which offers $100,000 to the champion.
Bautista defeated compatriot Leonardo Hipolito , 11-9, Malayan toppled Dominik Jastrząb of Poland, 11-5, while Maluto edged Fu Huan of Hongkong , 11-9.
However, Marlon Manalo’s Cinderella run ended after an 8-11 loss to Mario He of Austria.
After a long hiatus, he was able to make it through the qualifiers to reach the last 32 Thursday night, proving he still has what it takes to compete in the highest level.
