JOURNEYMAN Arnold “Destroyer” Garde of Davao City scored a 7th round technical knockout over Japanese Yuga Inoue last night, December 8 at the EDION Arena in Osaka.

The 34-year-old Garde landed a powerful punch to knock down Inoue in the 7th of the 8-rounder fight.

It was his 3rd fight this year but only his lone victory after he suffered a loss and a draw.

Garde first lost to Ryota Yamauchi of Japan by a knockout last February 2 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.

Garde then went to China to face Cheng Liu last May 29 at Chuxiong. They settled to a majority draw after two judges scored at 57-all.

Garde, a super flyweight, now has 13 wins with 6 knockouts against 15 losses while the 25-year-old Inoue suffered his 5th loss against 16 wins and one draw.

Meanwhile, bantamweight Romel “Smooth Operator” Oliveros of Bacolod City was knocked out by Tetsuro Ohashi in the 2nd round in the undercard.

It was his 2nd loss and fight for this year.

The 24-year-old Oliveros also lost by unanimous decision to Phongsaphon Panyakum for the WBC Asian super bantamweight title last May 31 at Max Muaythai Stadium in Pattaya, Thailand.

The Dec. 8 card in Osaka was promoted by Masaya Motoishi of Green Tsuda Promotions.
