ORLANDO, FL (June 10, 2026) – Boxlab Promotions' undefeated middleweight prospect Pedro Veitia (7-0-1, 7 KOs), fighting out of Orlando, FL, is preparing for one of the most significant fights of his young professional career as he takes on fellow unbeaten knockout artist Taiwo Afolabi (6-0, 6 KOs) of Lagos, Nigeria, by way of Staten Island, New York.
The six-round showdown between two undefeated rising stars will take place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida, as part of an action-packed card promoted by Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) in association with Boxlab Promotions. The event will be streamed live on ESPN+.
With both fighters entering the bout with perfect records and a combined 13 knockouts between them, the matchup has all the ingredients to become one of the most intriguing fights on the card. For Veitia, who is co-promoted with Boxlab Promotions, Warriors Boxing, and Dreambigg Promotions, it's an opportunity to prove he belongs among the top prospects in the middleweight division. As fight night approaches, Veitia says he's embracing the challenge of facing another undefeated fighter.
"This is exactly the type of fight I've been looking for," said Veitia. "Afolabi is undefeated, he's dangerous, and he has knocked out every opponent he's faced. I respect what he's accomplished, but I believe in my skills and everything I've worked for to get to this point. When two undefeated fighters meet, somebody's momentum has to stop, and I have no intention of letting it be mine. These are the fights that show who you really are as a fighter. I'm ready to prove that I belong among the best young middleweights in boxing.”
Veitia understands that a victory over another unbeaten prospect could significantly accelerate his rise through the ranks. Speaking about the impact a win could have on his career, Veitia emphasized that he views this fight as a major opportunity to gain recognition.
"A win in this fight would be huge for my career," Veitia stated. "When you're building your name in boxing, you need opportunities to show what you're capable of against quality opposition. Beating an undefeated fighter like Afolabi would send a strong message that I'm ready for the next level. I've worked hard to get where I am, and I believe this fight can open the door to bigger opportunities, tougher opponents, and more meaningful fights. My goal is to keep climbing the rankings and eventually compete for championships, and it starts with taking care of business on June 13."
The undefeated Cuban standout is also excited about the opportunity to perform in front of a worldwide audience. When discussing the significance of fighting on DAZN, Veitia welcomed the chance to showcase his talents on one of boxing's largest platforms.
"Fighting on DAZN is a big opportunity for me because it gives people all over the world a chance to see what I can do," concluded Veitia. "A lot of boxing fans may not know my name yet, but that's something I'm looking to change on June 13. This is a great stage to showcase my talent and show everyone the kind of fighter I am. I want fans to see someone who comes to fight, gives everything in the ring, and isn't afraid of any challenge. A strong performance on a platform like DAZN can help take my career to the next level, and I'm ready to make the most of this opportunity."
Boxlab Promotions President Amaury Piedra believes the bout represents an important step in Veitia's development and is confident his fighter will rise to the occasion.
"This is exactly the type of fight young prospects need if they want to become contenders," said Piedra. "Pedro is facing a fellow undefeated fighter with power and confidence, so there's no question this is a serious test. At this stage of a fighter's career, you want to see how they respond when they're challenged by someone who is equally motivated and equally hungry. That's what makes this matchup so compelling."
Piedra went on to explain why he believes Veitia possesses the tools necessary to emerge victorious.
"Pedro has all the qualities we're looking for in a future contender," Piedra continued. "He has tremendous natural talent, a strong amateur background, excellent power, and most importantly, a tremendous work ethic. Every fight we've seen him improve, and he's shown the willingness to take on difficult challenges. We respect Afolabi and what he's accomplished, but we believe Pedro has the skill set, discipline, and determination to win this fight and continue moving his career forward. This is a big moment for him, and we're confident he'll be ready when the bell rings."
