
IIEE Golden Sports and PTC World Engineering 2025 Launched

The Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers (IIEE) and Philippine Technological Council (PTC) launched the 2025 Golden Sports and the 3rd D’ Engineers Cup at SMX Pasay City during the 49th IIEE Annual National convention from November 28 to 30, 2024.
The inauguration includes ceremonial moves done by PBA legend Ramon Fernandez versus 2022 IIEE National President Feliciano Padua III, GM Joey Antonio versus IIEE National committee Chairman Noel Gomez and CM Genghis Imperial versus IIEE Northern Cavite Chapter secretary Liane Angue. Fernandez and Antonio also did the drone flying ceremony for the innovative sports called drone soccer. It is a game of soccer but instead of kicking a ball, the 5 players piloted a drone encased in a protective cage and dodging other drones in scoring by flying through the glowing hoop. “This futuristic sport emphasizes learning, collaboration and teamwork” says Crissa May Busano, representative of the Philippine Drone Soccer Association (PDSA).
International Master Roderick Nava had only 140 minutes clock against 19 IIEE Chessmasters players with 20 minutes each in the simultaneous games while International arbiter Ricky Navalta conducted 7 mini-tournaments including the 1st IIEE-Bayanihan Armageddon Battle of Champions won by Kevin Arquero over Sherwin Tiu and 16 others champions and runner ups.
On the last day of event, November 30. Actor Jao Mapa and GM Joey Antonio hosted the awarding ceremony for the 3-day event including the IIEE National Chess Olympias season 5 online games participated by 20 teams. The winners in the 4 groups are IIEE Southern Laguna, Iloilo, Saudi and Metro South who advances to In-season play-off together with runner up Metro Central, Quezon, Metro East and Eastern Central Visayas. IIEE Quezon bannered by GM Daniel Quizon, IM Michael Concio, Nephtali Bantang, Anatoly Pascua and IIEE Marco Villareal emerged as In-season champion after beating Saudi, Southern Laguna and Iloilo. IIEE Mindanao strength is as one region as it won all its 1st round matches over IIEE Foreign, Metro Manila, Visayas and Luzon region before losing all 4 cumulative performance in the 2nd round where its 4 teams faltered in their respective match up as team Cagayan de Oro, Northern Mindanao, Davao-Socsargen and South West Mindanao. For the regular season play-off, IIEE Mindanao bested Institute of Electronic Engineers of the Philippines (IECEP), IIEE Metro Manila region and Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) to win its 3rd overall championship of the Olympiad. Jemuel Calo emerged as top scorer for the team winning a big painting from Sentro Artista. Jao and International Artist Jun Rocha performed on-spot painting making 5 canvass each while the Life ‘N Arts led by Lerma Julian and Portrait Girls led by KC De Guzman completed the 50 IIEE Golden canvass participated by IIEE participants and their kids.-Marlon Bernardino-
