Together, we can help Israel overcome this challenge. Donate today and be part of his journey to recovery.

The World Boxing Council (WBC) has reported on the unfortunate state of former Mexican world champion Israel Vázquez and is conducting a special campaign seeking donations from boxing fans and the general public to support him.

WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán, along with WBC Cares President Jill Diamond Chastain, are the pillars of support for this campaign, which has launched a GoFundMe account.

Sadly, former world champion Israel Vázquez has been diagnosed with stage 4 sarcoma, a type of cancer with over 70 different variations, and he is currently facing a difficult health battle.

Vázquez had a remarkable professional record of 44 wins (32 KOs) and 5 losses, but this is undoubtedly the biggest challenge of his life.

Since 2018, it has been known that he suffers from systemic sclerosis, which has taken a heavy toll on his weight and led to significant physical deterioration.

“The WBC stands alongside Israel Vázquez and his wife, Laura, as we strive to bring his family from Mexico and ensure he receives the care he deserves. But he also needs your love and support. Show this humble and brave warrior what he means to you. Whether it’s a dollar, a prayer, or a note for his family, your support matters.” — Jill Diamond, a woman who has dedicated herself to similar causes around the world.
