
Torre to play simul chess

Ozamis City---Hall of Famer and Asia's First Grandmaster Eugene Torre will be playing in a simultaneous chess exhibition with young chess players in Ozamis City, Misamis Occidental when the 3rd Governor Henry Oaminal Chess Festival, a FIDE rated tournament, unfurls on November 4-5 in Oroquieta City.
Torre will play young competitors in a simul game during the Open tournament's opening on Nov.4 at the Asenso Misamis Occidental Sports and Cultural Center, Capitol Complex in Oroqueta City.
The tournament's champion will receive P50,000 and a trophy. On Sunday, November 3, Torre spearheaded the soft opening of the Asenso Ozamiz Mini chess corner, Wellness Park, Ozamis City, Misamis Occidental. In the presence of Ozamis City councilors, and Many GMs/IMs and titled masters. A traditional ceremonial move happens between GM Darwin Laylo vs City Councilor Cecille Co, GM Eugene Torre vs Vice Mayor Baby Neri and GM Rogelio Antonio Jr. vs Councilor Dinky Suizo.-Marlon Bernardino-
