The 19-year-old Quizon, who captured the crown of the Philippine National Chess Championship at the Marikina Community Convention Center in Marikina City last January 7, looms as the player to beat in the Round Robin tournament owing to his current achievement.

Henry S. Oaminal Open Rapid Chess Tournament at the AYA Hotel and Residences in Clarin, Misamis Occidental last July 10.
" I hope to do well in this event," said Quizon, who is scheduled to represent the country in the 45th Chess Olympiad to be held on September 10 to 23 in Budapest, Hungary.
