Manila---Grandmaster elect and International Master Daniel Quizon will spearhead a strong cast clashing in the Professional Chess Association of the Philippines (PCAP) Grand Finals of Tournament of Champions (face to face, over the board) set July 19, 20 and 21 at the South Wing Atrium, Greenhills Mall in San Juan City.
The 19-year-old Quizon, who captured the crown of the Philippine National Chess Championship at the Marikina Community Convention Center in Marikina City last January 7, looms as the player to beat in the Round Robin tournament owing to his current achievement.

Quizon, one of the top players of Dasmariñas Chess Academy under the guidance of mayor Jenny Barzaga, Coun. Kiko Barzaga and national coach FIDE Master Roel Abelgas is fresh from winning the 2nd Gov. Henry S. Oaminal Open Rapid Chess Tournament at the AYA Hotel and Residences in Clarin, Misamis Occidental last July 10.
" I hope to do well in this event," said Quizon, who is scheduled to represent the country in the 45th Chess Olympiad to be held on September 10 to 23 in Budapest, Hungary.

Jojo Buenaventura, Coach Hubert Estrella and Sportsman Jessie Villasin will grace the opening ceremony on Friday at 8:30am. Press Conference also scheduled at 6pm.
