On Thursday afternoon, July 4, García posted vulgar and racist words on X/Twitter several times. There he also compared himself to the Ku Klux Klan and made derogatory comments and mockery about George Floyd, the black man whose murder at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer in May 2020 sparked a wave of protests.

García also mocked the Muslim religion.

Just a few days ago, García's father suggested that he receive therapy for his uncontrolled alcohol consumption.

In May, the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association notified the parties that Garcia had tested positive for the performance-enhancing drug Ostarine. And on June 20, Garcia reached a settlement with the New York Athletic Commission, accepting a one-year suspension from boxing and forfeiting some of his purse, but Garcia has acted even more erratically since then, and his strange activity in the social networks.

“In the exercise of my authority as president of the WBC, I expelled Ryan García from any activity with our organization. We reject any form of discrimination. I fear for Ryan's well-being as he has rejected multiple attempts to get our help regarding mental health and substance abuse,” said Mauricio Sulaimán, president of @WBCBoxing.
