JEO “Santino” Santisima is the new WBC Asian Continental super featherweight champion after he knocked out defending champion Arnon Yupang of Thailand last night, June 22 at Cataingan in Masbate.
Right in front of thousands of his fellow Masbateños, the 28-year-old Santisima demonstrated the prowess of his left-right body punches against the Thai.
Santisima of the ZIP-Sanman Boxing Stable hurt Yupang with a left straight in the 3rd round.
In the 4th canto, Santisima again connected left-right combinations before a vicious right on the body sent Yupang down.
Referee Jerold Tomeldan counted Yupang out after the Thai failed to stand up on time.
Santisima now has 24 wins with 20 knockouts and seven losses while the 26-year-old Yupang suffered his fifth loss against 14 wins.
Antonio Kho is the promoter of the "Bakbakan sa Masbate 2nd Edition" with Art Monis as the matchmaker.
