Boxing this weekend in Malaysia. An exciting pro boxing event is all set to unfold this coming Saturday, May 11, at the Indoor Stadium in the beautiful coastal City of Kuching, in Sarawak, Eastern Malaysia.

The entertaining international event is produced by Malaysian promoter Gulbudin Hekmateyer and Filipino man of boxing Brico Santig of Highland Boxing.

In one of the exciting wars, which is being labeled as "Champion vs Champion," promising 24-year-old Filipino bantamweight Herlan Gomez who comes from the area of the popular Tomongtong Mangrove Eco-Trail in Saravia, Negros Occidental, clashes hard against crafty and more-experienced WBA Asia South Champion Sukpraserd Ponpitak from Roi-Et in Northeastern Thailand, an important battle for both men.

Confident after 6 impressive consecutive knockout wins in 2023 in Thailand and Dubai, “The Negros Hitman” Herlan Gomez (11-1, 8 KO's), aims at testing himself against the tough and durable Sukpraserd, a focused warrior who has not only been an IBF Asia belt-holder but is also the reigning WBA Asia South Champion.

Will this battle in Kuching, Malaysia, make the distance?

Will the younger, fresher Herlan Gomez, who is the reigning WBC Asia Silver Bantamweight Champion, prove to have the skills, speed and power to dominate, and perhaps stop Sukpraserd?

Or will the hardened Sukpraserd be able to shock, outsmart, outbox and defeat Herlan, in the same way that he defeated then unbeaten Armenian Mikael Arutyunyan (8-1, 5 KO's) last December?

MORE EXCITING FIGHTS!

In heavyweights, undefeated 28-year-old power house Taimoor Khan (12-0, 11 KO's) from the City of Mardan in the fabled Valley of Peshawar in Northern Pakistan, battles brave and strong Vicky Khan of India.

This is a thrilling Pakistan vs India clash between two big, hard-hitting warriors that might not reached the final bell. Which big man will hit the canvas?

In the show's main event, 25-year-old local Kuching fighter, "The Kilat Boy" Daeloniel McDelon (6-3-1, 3 KO's) looks forward to lock horns against battle-tested Yutthichai Wannawong, 27, from the "Heavenly" City of Nakhon Sawan in Northern Thailand.

This Daeloniel vs Yutthichai rumble is a 10-round collision for the vacant WBC Asia Silver Super Bantamweight Belt.

In another catchy fight, popular Japanese flyweight veteran Toshihiko Era (20-3, 15 KO's), born in Fukuoka, Japan, returns to Malaysia to trade leather against younger, hard-hitting 24-year-old Indian power-puncher Pawan Kumar Arya (5-1, 4 KO's).

Toshihiko vs Pawan is a non-title 8-chapter saga in the 112-pound (50.8 kilos) weight-class; and who will score the win?

AND EVEN MORE FIGHTS FOR MALAYSIA FANS:

Cool American fighting kid Daishaun Middleton, who hails from the coastal Flowertown of Summerville in South Carolina, makes his second pro boxing appearance when he takes on younger 22-year-old Worawut Singhabutr of the Kingdom of Thailand.

Daishaun, 33, who for years has competed in different combat sports – including Muay Thai – aims to immerse himself deeper into the sweet science of boxing.

His first assignment last December was declared a non-contest, and in this new mission, the South Carolina native will see ahead of him a six-round rumble in the light heavyweight division.

One of Daishaun's favourite movies is Eddie Murphy's classic "Coming to America." This time for Daishaun will be "Coming to Malaysia." Who will he emerge victorious?

In another thrilling fight, 25-year-old Malaysian featherweight Khairul Azim (2-1, KO's) from amazing KK, Kota Kinabalu in the State of Sabah in Northeastern Malaysia, will lace his 8-ounce gloves for a six-round battle against fearless Johan Sigalingging from Batam in Riau Islands, Indonesia.

Biled as "Blazing Fist," this entertaining pro boxing show on Saturday, May 11, at the Kuching Indoor Stadium is promoted by Gulbudin Hekmateyer and Brico Santig, supervised by the Sports Committee of Malaysia.

May the Best Men Win!!!
