World Boxing Council (WBC) President Mauricio Sulaimán will be the keynote speaker at the first Pacquiao-Elorde Awards Night on March 24 at Okada Manila, Philippines.

World sports star Manny Pacquiao has commented on the great relationship of Philippine boxing with the WBC since its founding on February 14, 1963 with the Philippines being one of the first 11 initial countries.

Manny Pacquiao was WBC world champion at flyweight, lightweight and super welterweight.

The legend Gabriel "Flash" Elorde appears as a historical reference of the WBC super featherweight with a reign from 1960 to 1967.

The Philippines had Justiniano Montano Jr. as president of the WBC and Rodrigo Salud as secretary general, who was also the one who drafted the Constitution and Regulations.

Mauricio, son of former WBC life president, José Sulaimán, will arrive in Manila Wednesday afternoon.
