MANILA---THE Battle of the Future Grandmasters will hit Pasig on Dec. 9 to 10 to further the development of young kids and uprising woodpushers in the country.

Around 100 to 200 chess wizards will compete in 3 different divisions at the 3rd floor Estancia Mall, Kapitolyo in Pasig City . The youngest category for the competition will be for kids 12-Under, for youth 17-Under while the oldest is the 18 year old and above division.

“The goal of the event is to help our young chess players here in Pasig City in particular, and also in the Philippines in general. We want them to become globally competitive not just in this sport but also in their daily lives,” said Pasig City King Pirates Coach Franco Camillo.

Coach Camilo is expecting the top players in this region and out-of-town players to come and compete.

“This event will surely promote Pasig City and also its chess prodigies in various categories,” added Franco.
