MANILA---Filipino James Marcus Justo will showcase his talent in the 2023 National Chess Open that gets underway on Saturday, May 13 at the Guam Premier Outlets in Guam, USA.

The 8-year-old Justo, a Grade 2 pupil of iLearn Academy in Guam, USA will slug it out against Guam's best kiddie and youth woodpushers.

He was the third chess player in the family aside from his father James Brian and elder sister Alexis Rian.

He started to learn and play chess at the age of seven.

His father James Brian taught him the rudiments of chess.

The Justo family is currently living in Tamuning, Guam and is a native of Benito Soliven, Isabela, Philippines.

1996 Philippine Junior Champion FIDE Master Robert Suelo Jr. has something to say about his student: "My goal is to help James Marcus Justo to develop his chess skills and knowledge."

"With ample training and preparation, i believe James Marcus Justo will become chess champions,” added FM Suelo, first chess coach of Super Grandmaster Wesley So.-Marlon Bernardino-
