T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas --
Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia main undercard:
WBA Regular (Super middleweight) Champion David Morrell, Jr (9-0, 8KOs) from Cuba made quick work of Brazil's Yamaguchi Falcao (24-2-1,10KOs) by stunning the challenger within the first minute of the fight stumbling around the ring from Morrell's power punches.
Falcao was given a standing 8 count by the referee. After the standing 8 count Morrell closed the show by scoring a spectacular knockout in the 1st round. The time of the stoppage was 2:22 of the first round.
Falcao laid motionless for a few minutes on the ring canvas while getting medical attention from the ringside health providers which was scary. Fortunately, Falcao was able to walk out of the ring on his own and appeared OK.
Morrell, while only having 9 professional fights, makes another statement as he continues to challenge undefeated and former two time WBC super middleweight and current interim WBC 168lbs champion David Benevidez. Morrell grabbed the microphone at the T-Mobile center and said that David Benavidez was next.
Let's see what happens.
