Arguably the most anticipated matchup of opening week is between two fighters expected to be stars in the light heavyweight division for the next decade, 19-year old phenom Sam Arnold Jr. (8-0) of Las Vegas and Philly native Atif Olbertin (8-0) representing the Smoke.
Another notable matchup is at middleweight where undefeated Oluwafemi Oyelele (12-0) faces Leon Lawson (14-1).
In a battle of undefeated heavyweight titans, Mike Hilton (11-0) of the Smoke will face off against Skylar Lacy (6-0) of the Hustle.
The female division will ignite an international showdown as Uruguayan Florencia Belen battles Haitian amateur sensation Kathleen Sterling.
One major question mark for Philly is will the Smoke have an answer for the dual threat of James Earle and Dontae Brown of Las Vegas, with a combined record of 25-0.
“We are excited to match our skills against a team with seasoned pros,” stated Philly coach Lando Rosa. “At the same time, however, Philly is a fight town, and our fighters are of a different caliber. We expect the one round format to be ideal for our tough as nails Philly fighters.”
“All credit to Philly, it is a tough fight town but Las Vegas is the mecca of boxing," Las Vegas coach Dewey Cooper answered. "We have attracted a talent level that reflects the unique standing of Las Vegas in the combat sports world and the results will reflect that.”
