Hall of Fame Referee Steve Smoger Passes Away

Sad news for the boxing world.
American legend Canastota International Hall of Fame referee, Steve Smoger passed away on December 19 after a long illness. It has been known that there will be no funeral service.
Smoger was in more than 200 world championship bouts and was one of the most traveled in his profession, with the distinction of refereeing in more states and countries than any other boxing referee in the history of the sport.
Smoger was a great guy and a great gentleman... Decent man and always ready to give his best... Gentle and friendly... Guys from a golden generation and of great human value, for that reason he will be missed for his reason for life and human legacy.
