Caleb Plant knocks out Anthony Dirrell in the 9th round

Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York -- In a battle of former 168lbs champions, Caleb Plant (22-1, 13KOs) scored a textbook knockout over Anthony Dirrell (34-3-2, 25KOs). Plant not known for being a big puncher but he was a few steps ahead of Dirrell by landing his punches first and evading Direll's punches throughout the entire fight . Dirrell just couldn't close the gap to land his punches. In the 8th round after a hook to the body, plant landed a perfect left hook and literally knocked out Dirrell who laid motionless for approx 1 minute on the canvas. The time of the stoppage was 2:57 in 9th round. Great performance by Plant.
