THE Davao Del Norte Basketball League (DDNBL) has invited teams from Davao City to join the Collegiate Division of the ALDU Cup yesterday, September 20 at the Louie Brothers Korean Restaurant along Telstar St., Doña Vicenta Subdivision in Davao City.
“I am happy and grateful to Cong. Alan Dujali had involved Davao City schools to participate in the tournament,” said DDNBL Commissioner and SanMan Sports Foundation Chairman Arman Sañano.
Present at the meeting were coaches Nick Serafica of Jose Maria College, Bambie Santander of Davao Merchant Marine Academy, Rhoderick Conda of Agro Industrial Foundation College, Jun Montalban of University of Mindanao, Peter Epe of Philippine Women’s College, Howard Delgado of St. John Paul College, Beethoven Rubinos of UM Tagum City, Jam Leo Galong of Brokenshire College and Michael Lorejo of Holy Cross of Davao College.
Also present were DDNBL assistant commissioner Lloyd Luage and Rael Diaz of RED Sports and Events.
DDNBL decided to replace the commercial division into inter-collegiate to get more participating teams.
Also expected to join in the inter-collegiate are the North Davao College and Davao del Norte State College, both from Panabo City and the UM Penaplata of Samal Island.
“These teams will be given at least one week to finalize their line-up,” said Sañano.
The DDNBL started its ALDU Cup last Sept. 18 with the Inter-LGU division at the ARF Gym, Freedom Park in Panabo City.
The champion will receive P50,000 while the second placer will get P30,000, third P20,000 and fourth P10,000.
Trophies and individual medals will be awarded for the MVP and Mythical five players.
This event is managed by SanMan Sports Foundation in partnership with RED Sports & Events.
