Kamatyas chess tourney is on

MANILA---The Kamatyas Invitational Kiddies Fide Rated Chess Tournament gets underway on September 24 with some of the country’s top young players headed by Jude Angelo Dableo of Manila battling it out for glory at the Multisys Technologies Corporation in Paranaque City.

Jude Angelo is the son of former Asian Zonal Champion Grandmaster Candidate Ronald Dableo.

Mar Aviel Carredo, the pride of Quezon City and Marguel Soria Jr. of Pasig City should be the players to watch also in this 1 day event, organized by Kamatyas Chess Club led by International Master Roderick Nava.

Also seeing action are Daniella Bianca Cruz, Carl David and Kylle David Almirol, Yvan Laurence Dumadag, Achilles Kratos and Lord Knight Buena , Samantha Beatrice Mislang , Marlon Aurellano Balbaboco, Princess Mendoza , Marius Constante, Kyle Jhazmin Clarito, John Curt Valencia, Elvira Joy and Elieza Marie Jaen, Bobby and Camille Ortiguesa.

The tournament offers P7,000 plus trophy to the champion, P5,000 plus trophy to the runner-up, P3,000 plus trophy to the third-placer, P2,000 to the fourth placer and P2,000 to the fifth placer.

Sixth to 10th placers will earn P1,000 each.

There will be also a Senior division. Limited to 20 players only, free registration, free lunch and dinner-Marlon Bernardino-
