TOMJUNE “War Dog” Mangubat of Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon will fight in Japan against Masanori Rikiishi for the Orient and Pacific Boxing Federation super featherweight title on August 14 at the EDION Arena in Osaka.
“Excited that I can fight again in the championship and I thank Masanori for the opportunity he gave me,” said Mangubat (15-3-1, 12KOs).
Mangubat has already recovered from his recent loss to Charly “King's Warrior” Suarez of Davao by a technical knockout in the 12th round for the WBA Asia super featherweight title last March 12, 2022 in Paranaque City.
“I will try my best to make up for my loss. I will do it to the best of my ability,” said Mangubat, who is now 133 pounds,
Mangubat has undefeated Carlo “Flamethrower” Bacaro (9-0-0, 6KOs), Benny Cañete (6-0-0, 5KOs) and Jeo “Santino” Santisima (21-4-0, 18KOs) as sparring mates.
Santisima will also face against Hiroshige Osawa of Japan in the undercard.
Mangubat and Santisima will leave Cebu on August 12.
