
WBO Champion Jonathan "Bomba" Gonzalez Belted in Guaynabo, PR

Guaynabo, Puerto Rico - Newly crowned WBO light flyweight champion Jonathan “Bomba” Gonzalez has officially received his world title after dethroning Elwin “La Pulga” Soto this past Saturday in Fresno, California as part of the Mikey Garcia vs Sandor Martin undercard that aired live on DAZN.
Gonzalez had a meet & greet homecoming in the Museo De los Deportes de Puerto Rico in an activity organized by the Puerto Rican based World Boxing Organization(WBO) were many attendees took part including Mayor of Caguas William Miranda Torres, Director of Sports in Caguas Johann Estades and former world champions Alex “Nene” Sanchez & Ivan “Iron Boy” Calderon who held the same title at some point in their respective careers.
All Star Boxing President Felix “Tutico” Zabala proudly announced his new world champion before a big applause from the crowd on hand.
“Thank you everyone who has been part in my journey of becoming world champion” Stated WBO Champion Jonathan Gonzalez “a special thanks to the WBO for giving me the opportunity to fight for the title, my promoter Tutico Zabala who has believed in me since I signed in 2017, he never turned me down and gave me a chance. My trainer Luis Espada who prepared me well and lastly my strength and conditioning Victor Martinez who is my “Secret Weapon”.
“Bomba” also expressed interest in defending his world title on the Island in early 2022 when asked what his future plans hold
“It would be my dream to defend my title in my hometown of Caguas, Puerto Rico noted Gonzalez “But right now we are going to enjoy this victory with my friends and family before thinking of what lies ahead”
