The parents of American heavyweight boxer Rydell Mayes (8-1, 7KOS) have reported that all is well and tests have confirmed that there is no bleeding or brain injury. He suffered a significant concussion resulting from a blow to the back of the head in his surprise loss to Jaden Booth (3-2, 3 KOS) last Friday, February 12 at The NOTES Lounge, Murfreesboro in Tennessee, US.

Mayes was extremely dehydrated, which was a contributing factor to his stamina and energy level depletion. Doctors are now treating him in an attempt to improve his kidney function. He can potentially be released when his hydration and kidney function are at an acceptable level.

Rydell thanks everyone for his loyal support and his endless prayers. Stay tuned for the: "Back after a setback" !! says Mayes.
