It has been learned that the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) insists on its concern over the lack of reform in the International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA), which was stripped of its IOC recognition status in 2019 and suspended from hosting the Olympic boxing tournament in Tokyo at the 2020 Olympics. A recent meeting of the IOC Executive Committee reports on the conduct of the 137th IOC session from March 10-12 in online format and a statement on AIBA was released.

“The IOC Executive Board remains concerned about the lack of progress in the reforms requested for the International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA) with regard to management, governance, evaluation and other issues. These concerns will be communicated to AIBA."
