Young chess wizard Chester Neil Reyes of Rodriguez, Rizal scored a crucial win in the end game to claim the championship of the Baby Almarie Jolene dubbed as Baby Dos One Month Old Celebration Online Chess Tournament last Monday, January 11, 2021 at lichess.org.
After losing to Sherwin Tiu of Mindoro, Chester Neil bounced back with aplomb to down National Master Jonathan Tan of Davao City, International Master elect Michael "Jako" Concio Jr. of Dasmarinas City, Cavite, Rafael Sim of Tacloban City, Fide Master Alekhine "Bbking" Nouri of Escalante City, Negros Occidental and his older brother Narquingel Reyes, respectively.
That was all Chester Neil needed to nail the title with the highest output of 157 Arena points in this one minute play to finish free registration online bullet chess tournament organized by Bayanihan Chess Club, sponsored by Canadian National Master and frontliner Zulfikar Sali, Team Owner of Zamboanga Sultans, former NCFP director Ed Madrid, Team Owner of Batch Rizal Towers and Jubail, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia based Jimmy Reyes.
Fide Master Alekhine Nouri, on the other hand, settled for the second place honors with 143 Arena points, followed by third placer International Master elect Michael Concio Jr.with 136 Arena points.
Rounding up the top 10 in this 287 player's field were Fide Master Arden Reyes (132 pts.), Sherwin Tiu (128 pts.), International Master elect and Fide Master Roel Abelgas (107 pts.), National Master Jonathan Tan (90 pts.), Andres Bautista (83 pts.), Singapore-based Fide Master Dino Ballecer (82 pts.) and Rafael Caneda (80 pts.).-Marlon Bernardino-
