This Friday, November 20, the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador presented the President of the WBC, Mauricio Sulaimán, his recognition as a winner in the category of Sports Promotion and Promotion of the Practice of Sports in the 2020 National Sports Award.

The event was held at Campo Marte in Mexico City with the winners who receive a diploma, a gold medal and an economic incentive of about 38 thousand dollars.

In 2015 Don José Sulaimán Chagnón also won the same award but posthumously after his death in January 2014.

The National Sports Award has been awarded for 45 years by voting by the Qualifying Jury for the designation of the winners among 96 proposals.

“Receiving this award is very special and rewarding. It is with great humility that I receive it on behalf of all boxers and my father, who left the path outlined to continue working for the sport. The commitment is to continue every day serving everyone as we do the WBC, following the principles of Don José Sulaimán,” expressed Sulaimán Saldívar.
