Marc Voltaire Paraguya breaks 2000 barrier, earns AGM title

Manila---MARC VOLTAIRE PARAGUYA, one of the chess instructors of famous Rising Phoenix Chess Improvement Association and Estavillo Chess Academy had something to cheer and happy at the start of this month of July after he finally earned the coveted Arena Grandmaster (AGM) title.

This after Cavite based Paraguya from Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija broke the 2000 barrier at the Fide (World Chess Federation) Arena online rated games.

Thus, the Zamboanga City born Paraguya, also head coach of Del Pilar Academy (Imus Cavite) and Little Scouts Chess Academy, joined the elite-AGM group of Joseph Galindo, Cristine Mariano-Wågman, Robert Suelo Jr., PECA president Dentist Alfredo "Fred" Paez, Henry Roger Lopez, Christopher Diaz, Almario Marlon Bernardino Jr., Srihaan Podar, Io Aristotle Nikolai Calica,Dandel Fernandez and Chess Blogger Dino Ballecer among others.

Arena International Master (AIM) Alexandra Sydney Paez, playing under the leadership of Cabuyao City, mayor Atty. Rommel A. Gecolea, meantime wants to win more Arena online games rated tournaments of the World Chess Federation (FIDE) to follow the footsteps of Pinoy AGM master.-Marlon Bernardino-
