Top-notch Las Vegas referee Kenny Bayless was named by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) as the third man in the ring for the blockbuster Pacquiao-Marquez rematch on March 15 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, ESPN has reported.

Bayless has refereed 363 fights spanning 15 years with 43 world title fights. Bayless' most recent high profile fights were Mayweather-De la Hoya (2007), Mosley-Vargas (2006), Hopkins-De la Hoya (2004) and Jones-Tarver (2004). Bayless was also the third man in the ring during the second Pacquiao-Morales fight were Bayless stopped the fight in the 10th round for a Pacquiao TKO win.

The first fight between Pacquiao and Marquez was refereed by Joe Cortez where Cortez had received kudos for allowing the fight to continue despite Marquez being down in the canvas three times in the first round. Both the Pacquiao and Marquez camps however, have openly voiced their opposition for Cortez to handle the rematch.

Bayless is a recent Manila visitor when he attended the WBC Convention last November where he had also refereed the OPBF title fight between Juanito Rubillar of the Philippines and Byung Joo Lee of Korea held at the San Andres Gym in Manila on Nov. 16, 2007.

NSAC has also named the judges for the Pacquiao-Marquez rematch, according to ESPN. They are Duane Ford, Jerry Roth and Dick Flaherty.
