Dentist Alfredo "Fred" Paez eyes Arena Grandmaster Title

Manila---After earning his Arena International Master (AIM) title , Dentist Alfredo "Fred" Paez prepares to hit his second mission by pushing his next move in more Arena online games rated tournament of the World Chess Federation (FIDE) this month.

The former top player of UAAP chess champion National University (NU) chess team needed to break the 2000 barrier to achieve online Arena Grandmaster (AGM) title and follow the footsteps of newly installed AGM Dandel Fernandez.

"The benefit of staying at home. In addition to have an ample time for family bonding, there is also plenty of time to play rated chess games in the FIDE Online Arena (more than 400 games of bullet, blitz and rapid chess online for the past 10 days)," said Dr. Paez, the pride of Cabuyao City, Laguna under the leadership of it's mayor Atty. Rommel A. Gecolea.
