Ronald ‘Winky’ Wright reaches the final of the ‘eWBSS Middleweight Legends Tournament’ after dominating and stopping brave Carlos Monzon in Saturday’s semi-final.

On April 1 Wright scored a KO in the 9th against Sugar Ray Leonard and three days later another legend, mighty Carlos Monzon, got the same treatment in just 8 from the tournament revelation at the eCowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Monzon was only able to switch the momentum of a one-sided semi in round three and four as he temporarily rocked Wright and added him a minor cut. The night belonged to ‘Winky’ Wright. He scored his first knockdown in the 7th and dropped Monzon no less than thrice in the following round. A devastating left hand to the body sealed the deal for the stylish southpaw. Wright was rightfully leading 68-64 on all scorecards at the time of the stoppage.

The eWBSS Middleweight Legends final for the eAli Trophy, between Tournament No 1 seed Sugar Ray Robinson and unseeded Ronald ‘Winky’ Wright, will be broadcast Sunday at 7pm (UK) on World Boxing Super Series Facebook.

The eWBSS tournaments, simulated on EA Sports ‘Fight Night Champion’, are created by the real World Boxing Super Series to provide some much-needed relief and entertainment for fight fans around the world during these testing times.
