IM Daniel Quizon rules 1st All Dasmarinas Online Chess Tournament

Manila----International Master (IM) Daniel Maravilla Quizon completed his conquest of the champions by downing Grandmaster (GM) Darwin Rosales Laylo, 3.5-2.5, to rule the 1st All Dasmarinas Online Blitz (five minutes) Chess Tournament at the famous chess website: "www.lichess.org" Thursday night, April 2, 2020.
The 15-year-old Quizon, the top player of Dasmariñas Chess Academy under the leadership of Rep. Elpidio "Pidi" Barzaga and national coach International Master (IM) Roel Abelgas, defeated reigning Eastern Asian Champion International Master (IM) Michael "Jako" Concio Jr. and Asian Age group champion Daren Dela Cruz to arrange the championship showdown.
Last month, Quizon beat Pinoy Thailand based Fide Master (FM) Deniel Causo in the last round to win the the third leg of the online Rising Phoenix International Chess Championship 2020 hosted by Rising Phoenix Chess Academy Owner/Managing Director International Master (IM) Joel "Cholo" Banawa.
Meanwhile, FIDE Master (FM) Sander Severino topped the second leg of the online Cesar Orbe Memorial Cup recently.-Marlon Bernardino-
