Manila----Woman Grandmaster (WGM) Janelle Mae Frayna topped the 1st Women's Online Bullet Chess Championships last Wednesday, April 1, 2020.
With the win, WGM Frayna, the pride of Legaspi City, Albay under the tutelage of national coach Grandmaster (GM) Jayson Gonzales accumulated 80 arena points to rule the tournament that used the chess application “lichess” and add the event to her list of chess achievements in this one-day online chess tournament backed up by Brotherhood of The Knights of Square Table Founder/CEO Capt. Ronaldo Banaag.
WGM Frayna is a former top player of UAAP chess champion Far Eastern University chess team and currently mainstay of the multi-titled Philippine Army chess team.
" Arena points lang po hindi po siya number of games yung arena points po, pag nananalo ka 1 game=2 arena points po. Everytime manalo ka ng sunod sunod, nagiging 1 game=4 arena points. berserk po (partida 1/2 time) 1 game =3 arena points pag manalo po," said United Queens Chess Club president and tournament organizer Susan Grace Neri.

Woman Fide Master (WFM) Cherry Ann Mejia finish second with 67 arena points followed by third placer Maria Euane Jesa Singson who tallied 64 arena points.
Rounding up to the top 10 winners were 4th Woman National Master (WNM) Karen Enriquez (61 arena points), 5th Virgenie Ruaya ( 59 arena points), 6th Jessa Mae Lisondra (58 arena points), 7th Woman Fide Master Allaney Jia Doroy (54 arena points), 8th Woman Fide Master Jerlyn Mae San Diego (52 arena points), 9th Woman International Master (WIM) Marie Antoinette San Diego (52 arena points) and 10th Woman International Master (WIM) Vic Glysen Derotas (50 arena points).-Marlon Bernardino-
