80s icon Marvin Hagler won an action-packed bout against Kelly Pavlik on Tuesday night at the eMGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Simulated on EA Sports ‘Fight Night Champion’ and broadcast via World Boxing Super Series Facebook, Marvelous Marvin Hagler scored an 8th round knockout of ‘The Ghost’ Kelly Pavlik to face Sugar Ray Robinson in Friday’s semi-final of the ‘eWBSS Middleweight Legends Tournament’.
Both boxers suffered cuts during the highly competitive battle which saw Pavlik being crushed to the floor with big left shot already in the third. He got up and started to return fire, but never enough to seriously hurt the legend. Pavlik did play his part showing his fighting heart, and it was a back and forth drama that could have gone either way if it went the distance. But Hagler proved better in the crucial moments of the fight.
In the 8th a left uppercut caught Pavlik under his chin and sent him to the canvas and as he struggled to rise, the referee reached the count of ten. Two scorecards had it 67-65 in favour of Hagler, while the third judge scored it 66-66 even at the time of the stoppage.
Wednesday’s quarter-final is another mouthwatering match-up, Sugar Ray Leonard vs Ronald ‘Winky’ Wright and as always at 7pm (GMT) on World Boxing Super Series Facebook.

Ray Robinson vs Fernando Vargas, March 30 – Robinson W – KO5

The entire ‘eWBSS Middleweight Legends’ tournament is streamed on the World Boxing Super Series Facebook page at 7pm (GMT) every day from Monday March 30 until the final on Sunday April 5.
