MILWAUKEE -- There is a reason why Milwaukee Bucks center Robin Lopez is often called a jolly giant.

Well, the man is 7-foot-tall and 270 pounds large. And he is super friendly, extra nice.

And that was exactly the case Thursday night (Friday morning RP time) in Milwaukee. Moments after his team spanked the invading Boston Celtics, 128-123, at the Fiserv Forum, the affable 11-year veteran sat down with PhilBoxing.com after another honest day's work on the court.

Lopez was engaging and his answers were sometimes short but meaningful, kind of life a lethal Manny Pacquiao left hook.

Lopez is smart, too. No surprise there, either. Like his twin and teammate Brook, Robin went to Stanford, a prestigious Ivy league university.

Without further ado, here's Robin Lopez in his own words.

Philboxing.com: Can you talk about your role as a back-up center and what you have to do to stay prepared to be ready everyday?

Robin Lopez: I think it's just playing with these guys. You know it's a real joy because they make it easy for me. My goal when I go out there is to go out there and help my teammates however I can.

PhilBoxing.com: What's it like playing with your brother? Any advantages?

Robin Lopez: Maybe a little bit. We don't play on the floor at the same time too much. I think it's been a lot of fun though, we have a lot of really close bonds on this team and I think it helps us pull for each other.

PhilBoxing.com: Can you talk about the contrast from last season to this season playing for a rebuilding team in the Bulls and then coming here where you're a top contender and just the differences?

Robin Lopez: Last year I was on a very young team. I was trying to help them with my experience. I think I am still helping them with my experience It's different playing with other experienced players obviously and I feel very comfortable out there.

PhilBoxing.com: You've established yourself as a journeyman in this league. Can you speak about your longevity and how you're able to keep that up season in and season out?

Robin Lopez: Despite appearances that may seem contrary I'd like to think I'm somewhat a versatile player. Whatever technique is for me I'm going to adjust my game so i can contribute and help out.

PhilBoxing.com: They're crazy out there for their basketball in the Philippines and they love the Lopez twins. Any messages for your fans in the Philippines?

Robin Lopez: I can't wait to get back out there, back to Manila. I'm a big Blue Eagles fan.

PhilBoxing.com: When was the last time you had Jollibee?

Robin Lopez: I need to get some of that spaghetti. It's been about a year or so, it's only on the West coast.

PhilBoxing.com: I noticed the loyalty to the hat. Any expectations for the Seattle Mariners? Do you follow them closely?

Robin Lopez: I think it's telling that the (Houston) Astros got caught up in that sign-stealing scandal. We pretty much robbed the Mariners of the championship, right?

(Editor's note -- Unbeknownst to Robin, Jollibee does have two outlets in Chicago where he played last season. He just probably forgot about it or never had a chance to stop by.)
