
SEAG: PH boxing team wins 7 gold, 3 silvers

THE Philippine amateur boxing team won seven golds and three silvers yesterday Dec. 9 at the 30th Southeast Asian Games at the PICC Forum in Pasay City.
Light flyweight Carlo Paalam won by 5-0 over Indonesia while flyweight Rogen Ladon also won by 5-0 over Thailand in the final.
Light welterweight James Palicte won by 5-0 over Vietnam while lightweight Charly Suarez by 5-0 over Thailand. Middleweight Eumir Marcial won the gold by recap.
In the women's boxing, Nesthy Petecio won the gold in the featherweight while Josie Gabuco won the gold via 5-0 over Indonesia in light flyweight final.
Meanwhile, Irish Magno settled for silver after losing to Vietnam, 1-4 in women's flyweight final.
