LOS ANGELES -- In the co-main event of the Errol Spence Jnr vs Shawn Porter IBF/WBC welterweight unification fight at the Staples Center here Saturday night, David Benavidez (22-0-0, 19KOs) of Phoenix, Arizona stopped Anthony Dirrell (33-2-1, 24KOs) of Flint, Michigan at 1:35 of round number nine to recapture the WBC super middleweight title. Dirrell suffered huge cut on right eye in round six which bothered him the rest of the fight.
