59TH SOUTHERN LEYTE ANNIVERSARY BOXING TOURNAMENT SEMI-FINALS

The boxing tournament for the 59th Southern Leyte Founding Anniversary continued yesterday at the Capitol Sunken Garden, Maasin City.

Six semi-final bouts were held with the winners advancing to the finals on Monday June 24 and the losers becoming bronze medalists.

Lemuel Ybanez of Ormoc City defeated Jazin Dave Ledres of Hilongos by unanimous decision, 47 kg. Junior boys category.

Mark Anthony Sarino of Ormoc City defeated Jomari Abitona of Maasin City by unanimous decision, 53 kg. Youth boys category.

Caasi Salvador of Leyte Sports Academy defeated Paulo Babaran of Tacloban City by referee stopped contest, 53 kg. Youth boys.

Jimmy Cannu Jr. of Tacloban City defeated John Patrick Sudario of Ormoc City by referee stopped contest, 56 kg. Youth boys category.

Edison Egonio of Tacloban City defeated Ren-ren Castino of Padre Burgos by referee stopped contest, 53 kg. Elite boys category.

Reynolds Ragas of Maasin City defeated AJ John Gula, 53 kg. Elite boys category.

There were also ten exhibition bouts featuring boxers from Hilongos, Ormoc City, Tomas Oppus, and Maasin City.

The exhibition bout winners were John Cort Melgaso of Hilongos, Ronie Urgel of Hilongos, Mark Anthony Bolo of Maasin City , Roben Evale of Maasin City, Al Ryan Lomot of Tomas Oppus, Jemar Japos of Maasin City, John Dominic Ledres of Hilongos, Harold James Taripe of Ormoc City, and Victor Epiz of Maasin City.
