
59TH SOUTHERN LEYTE ANNIVERSARY BOXING TOURNAMENT (PRELIMINARIES)

The Province of Southern Leyte will be celebrating its 59th Founding Anniversary on July 1. The boxing tournament started yesterday at the Capitol Sunken Garden at the capital Maasin City.  It was sponsored by newly reelected Governor Damian Mercado and the Provincial Board.
Here are the results of the preliminary bouts:
Jeffry Hornes of Hilongos defeated Ditchel Potoy of Ormoc City by split decision, 40 kg. Junior boys category.
Cris Carlos Emnas of Leyte Sports Academy defeated Arlando Senoc Jr. of Padre Burgos by split decision, 47 kg. Junior boys category.
Regie Parilla of Ormoc City defeated Erwin Vilbar of Hilongos by referee stopped contest, 45 kg. Youth boys category.
Kyron Vinas of Macrohon defeated Melchor Galleon of Hilongos by abandonment, 50 kg., Youth boys category.
Paulo Babaran of Tacloban City defeated Benz Allen of Hilongos by referee stopped contest, 53 kg. Youth boys category.
Regie Ortega of Leyte Sports Academy defeated Jhayve Donaire of Maasin City by unanimous decision, 56 kg. Youth boys category.
Ramil Pingol of Tacloban City defeated CJ Culpa of Maasin City by unanimous decision, 50 kg. Elite category.
Shaquel Miole of Maasin City defeated Alex Caoctoy of Ormoc City by unanimous decision, 53 kg. Elite category.
Romeo Bestudio of Maasin B defeated Ian Lloyd Gesalan of Maasin A, 55 kg. Elite category.
Able Yarte of Hilongos B defeated Jasin More Angana ogmf Hilongos A, 59 kg. Elite category.
