Las Vegas, Nevada -- Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (52-1-2,35KOs) unified his WBA/WBC titles by adding Daniel "Miracle Man" Jacobs's (35-3, 29KOs) IBF title by winning a Unanimous Decision. Canelo outworked Jacobs by outlanding Jacobs in punches and used good defense to evade Jacobs's punches.

Neither fighter seemed to really hurt each other. There were no dramatic knockdowns or come from behind drama. Jacobs who had the size, height, and reach advantage going into the fight simply didn't use them and didn't do enough in the eyes of the Judges who scored the fight 115-113 (twice) and 116-112 to earn a victory. As for the future, Canelo stated he was looking forward to fighting Gennady "GGG" Golovkin and said he would beat him again. There is also the possibility of fighting WBO middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade because of Canelo's desire to unify all major middleweight titles. As for Jacobs, he stated he thought he was ahead on the scorecards but would review the fight tape of his performance and would be back to resume his career.
