Former WBO super middleweight champion and now fighting as a light heavyweight for the first time, Gilberto Ramirez of Mazatlan, Mexico stops Tommy Karpency of Adah, Pennsylvania in the 4th round. Karpency failed to answer the bell at the start of the 5th round on the main undercard of the LOMA-CROLLA lightweight battle at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles Friday night.

When interviewed by Top Rank's Christina Poncher atop the ring after the fight, Karpency said he got hurt with a body shot in round 1. Ramirez on the other hand called out all the division champs in his weight class for a title fight.

Ramirez now ups his unblemished record to 40 wins with 26 KOs while Karpency dropped to 29-6-1, 18KO.
