PARA?AQUE, Metro Manila -- In an intriguing battle of world-class fighters, experienced WBC International Jr. Flyweight Champion Jonathan Taconing (27-3-1. 22 KO's) born in Zamboanga del Norte, makes the second defense of his green & gold belt against youthful hard-hitting challenger Vince Paras (13-1, 11 KO's) of General Santos City Saturday night (Sep 22) at Elorde Sports Complex here in Para?aque, Metro Manila; and the men already defeated the scale, both successfully making the limit of the Jr. Flyweight division 108 pounds.

Taconing, 31, and Paras, 19, looked relaxed and in top good shape for their important 12-rounder rumble, which will get the winner close to the golden chance of fighting for the WBC world title.

Will the more experienced, serious and focused WBC #1 challenger Jonathan "Lighting" Taconing be too much of a warrior for the smiley, cheerful Vince Paras Saturday night? Or Will the tough young gun Vince Paras shock and rock Jonathan Taconing, knocking him out, a feat that no man has done before, propelling himself into an impressive win?

What do you think?

In the co-main event, undefeated 23 year-old striker Marlon Paniamogan (8-0, 5 KO's) of Surigao del Norte scaled-in at 138 lbs for his battle against tough southpaw Jerwin Mejes (4-3-4, 3 KO's) of Camerines Sur who came-in one pound heavier at 139 lbs. Their hot 8-rounder is inside the Super Lightweight Division.

Magramo, 21, and Diagan, 22, are both southpaws aiming at a solid win that would push their boxing careers forward.

Delmar Pellio and Remon Basas.

In super bantamweights, 18 year-old Aklan-born fighter Delmar Pellio (4-0, 3 KO's) of the Elorde Boxing Stable stepped-on at 122 pounds while Remon Basas (3-1, 2 KO's) of Masbate made 121 ahead of their 6-chapter saga that promises total action.

In a battle of rookies, Albert Francisco and Maico Fernandez will trade blows as pro boxers for the very first time. Francisco made 108 pounds while Fernandez scaled-in at 109 for their four-stanza duel. One of them will begin their pro boxing career with a win.

In bantamweights, Christian Tulayao (1-1, 1 KO) and Reynante Gono (1-7, 1 KO) of Batangas both made 118 lbs for their 4-rounder war.
