2018 Asean Under 12 Girls Champion Antonella Berthe Murillo Racasa to compete in World Cadet Chess Championships in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain

THE COUNTRY'S youngest Woman Fide Master (WFM) Antonella Berthe Murillo Racasa will head to Europe with hopes of improving her world ranking aside from bringing more honors and higher titles for the country.

Accompanied by his father/coach Roberto Racasa, also an International Memory champion, Antonella Berthe will see action in the upcoming World Cadets Chess Championships from November 3 to 16, 2018 in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain.

The 11-year-old grade 5 pupil from Homeschool Global won the 19th Asean International Age Group Chess Championships last June 2018 in Davao City.

Antonella Berthe received the gold medal in the standard competition plus the coveted Woman Fide Master (WFM) title for her effort.

Thus, Antonella Berthe became the country?s Woman Fide Master (WFM) at the age of 11.

She also topped the Asean Chess Master title (International Age Group Chess Championships in Kuantan Malaysia) at the age of 10 and the National Age Group Girls Under 10 Champion held in Cebu City at the age of 9.

The Mandaluyong City resident Racasa whose European campaign is supported by National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) Chairman and President Deputy Speaker Prospero Pichay Jr., former Mandaluyong City Mayor Benhur Abalos, Mayor Menchie Abalos, councilor Charisse Marie Abalos-Vargas, Herminio "Hermie" Esguerra of Herma Group of Companies, sportsman Reli de Leon, Rotary Club of Pasig thru Eng'r Rogelio Lim, Dr. Jess Acantillado and Philippine Executive Chess Association (PECA) President lawyer Cliburn Anthony A.
