NBA -- Irving leads new-look Celtics​'​ team practice in Rhode Island

BOSTON​? Kyrie Irving and the ​Boston ​Celtics are holding ​their ​training ​c​amp ​for the 2017-18 season in ​Rhode Island​, ​? the team's first since 2008​.​

While other clubs​ are holding camp ​away from home base, the Celtics ​chose ​a familiar spot closer to Massachusetts. The R​hode ​I​sland​ facility is ​less than ​a ​two​-drive ​from Boston.

​Newly-acquired Kyrie Irving, who owns career averages of 21.6 ​points, 3.4 ​rebounds ​and 5.6 ​assists per game, is now the team's top point guard, The four-time All-Star is regarded as the anchor of Boston's young core.

​Irving is ​joined by former Duke star Jayson Tatum, Al Horford ​and Gordon ​Hayward,

​The Missouri-born Tatum, 19, ​Born in Missouri, the 19-year-old averaged 16.8​ points, ​7.3 r​ebounds and ​2.1 ​assists per game in his ​​pg in his lone ​at Duke, where Irving was also a one-and-done star,​

Horford​, meanwhile, is the grizzled veteran in the group and has suited up for Atlanta from 2017 to 2016. . Born in the Dominican Republic, Horford ​played college ball ​at ​the University of Florida​.​

Hayward was ​traded from Utah where ​he shot 47 percent from three-point range​ while averaging ​15.7 points per. Hayward became a first-time All-Star in 2017.
