SARANGANI--Robert "Bob" Arum may have vomitted, rolled his eyes and choked at the same time when he told Manny Pacquiao those three, little sweet words; "You clearly won."
In a stunning revelation that will talk volumes on how the oldest promoter in the world operates, Arum tried to make a joke of himself right after the Pacquiao-Jeff Horn bout in Brisbane, Australia.
With a straight face, Arum had the capacity and audacity to lie to his teeth and do it just to win the heart and mind of his would-be target. In this case, the snake charmer's subject was an unwitting Pacquiao, who was about to get stitched up for head-butting injuries.
Arum told Pacquiao his opinion without batting an eyelash, that he clearly won the 12-round encounter, reminiscent of Timothy Bradley Jr.'s stealing the WBO championship belt in 2012, dubbed one of the biggest daytime robberies in boxing history and likewise promoted by Top Rank Promotions.
Like the Horn fight and the time of the Bradley fight, Pacquiao's contract was up for renewal.
This is contrary to Arum's pronouncements that Horn was the winner: "Horn's win over Pacquiao was no robbery" was the headline of The Ring Magazine right after the fight, quoting Arum.
Arum would be co-promoting Horn's next fights along with Duco Promotions. He has been eyeing to bring Horn to fight in Las Vegas or Madison Square Garden, in New York, the report indicated.

Arum hushed the media in decrying the outcome of the ill-officiated bout. He also tried to lull Pacquiao with his epic and melodramatic piece, "You clearly won."
Or he was completely honest and was stating his mind that Pacquiao was robbed of a victory once more.
Arum was with his step-daughter Dena duBoef, when he went to Pacquiao's locker room before Pacquiao was to get stitched up for two gaping wounds caused by head butts on both sides of his head. Horn was never reprimanded or deducted a point for such atrocities by inexperienced referee Mark Nelson.
Pacquiao was with his wife Jinkee and supporters Arnold Vegafria, a doctor, Edward Lura, David Sisson, trainer Buboy Fernandez and a couple of others when Arum uttered those immortal words after Pacquiao asked him "what happened out there?"
The 85-year-old Arum has been grasping at straws, and trying to extend his contract with Pacquiao, who is claiming that his pact with Top Rank Promotions has already expired.
"The contract runs well into 2018," said Arum in a recent interview with ringtv.com, which also printed unverified accounts stated by Arum in his interview regarding this writer.

This after Arum was likewise exposed for his previous attempts to have Pacquiao agree to only a 30 percent stake in the Australia fight while he gets 20 percent and the rest of the 50 percent to his Australian comrades.

"Manny and I have a very, very good relationship," added Arum in his expletive-filled interview with the Ring.
Pacquiao was shocked to learn of Arum's latest gaffe as he read news reports of Arum stating words that were opposite to the ones he said in the dressing room. Arum has been unmasked for his two-timing antics.
Arum is scheduled to fly out to Manila in the next week or so to convince Pacquiao that he has been telling the truth, and that he still has a live contract with the Philippine senator.
The Harvard-trained lawyer owns the famous saying: "Yesterday I was lying. Today, I am telling the truth."
